History
At the early age of 8, Pedro's parents decided to take him to the music conservatory auditions (Music and Dance Conservatory of San Pedro Alcantara, Marbella, Spain). The purpose of his parents was that Pedro began his career as a pianist.
He started the first course in September 2000 with a little knowledge of how to play piano, which improved during the course. At the end of the course, Pedro had to perform at the Summer Music Festival for an audience of 300 people. Huge audience for be his first performance playing piano and singing. It was a really excited experience. Over the next 4 years Pedro discovered that being on stage and performing for an audience was something that made him feel whole and happy.
During these 5 years, Pedro also studied musical theory and singing as a tenor in a chorus.
In 2005 he felt that he needed to learn more and do not play only piano forever. Pedro obtained the Elemental Grade (5 years). He left the conservatory and he started studying drums, what he was doing for no longer than a year and clarinet, which he studied for 3 years. This happened because at the same time that he left the music conservatory, he also discovered the Hip Hop and Break Dance (Bboying).
He began practicing Break Dance thanks to his older brother Alberto Montesinos who started training it as well. He trained with just one friend for a year until he met 4 more bboys who taught him much about the style, history, origins...etc. This helped him a lot because thanks to that, he began to travel around his country and going out of Spain. He met new people, new cultures and lifestyles.
During 3 years Pedro worked in many shows and presentations, music videos, he danced for singers in their concerts...
At the age of 16, he discovered other Hip Hop styles (Locking, Popping, Hip Hop Newstyle, House Dance...).
In 2009 Pedro joined the musical "Fama Dance School" for the tour of Spain 2009-2010, where his brother was also working with him. Joining this musical he found a few more styles like Contemporary or Lyric.
On 28th February 2010, the musical did the opening night for a huge audience (+1500). It was much more than excited for him and it was the first time he acted and danced at the same time on a stage.
When he finished the tour, Pedro travelled to Barcelona, Spain to live there for a month (July 2010) at his brother's place and attend an intensive dance course of Hip Hop styles. Was in that course when he learned a few more styles (Sexy Style, Commercial Dance or Ragga). Over his time in Barcelona, he also attended some Break Dance championships, getting a good place in some of them and judging some others.
In September 2010, Pedro decided to travel to London, United Kingdom and stay there for 4 months to learn English and improve his skills. He left his country on 3rd November 2010.
During his first month in London, Pedro got the first and second place in two Break Dance championships.
The second month he decided to study there his career ("Media Practice") about Filmmaking. He got the place in the London College of Communication, part of the University of the Arts London.
The interest of filmmaking appeared in his life around 2006. His friends dancing were the protagonist of the first videos that pedro filmed and edited. He improved his skills making videos of championships, trips, holidays, etc.
In 2007 Pedro made a short film where he also appeared acting which he wrote, directed and edited. This short film, with a lenght of 20 minutes, was only a school project but enough to enjoy it a lot and feel that he really loved the time that he spent making it.
For the next years, Pedro continued making videos and improving his skills as a video editor.
In 2010, he edited the promotional video for the musical "Fama Dance School".
On 9th July 2011, Pedro attended the "UK Bboy Championship Regional Conflict 2011" to compete. He got qualificated in the Top 8 going to the semi-finals. It was an amazing satisfaction for him because there were more than 100 bboys from UK and Ireland participating in the championship.
At the moment Pedro is expecting to start his filmaking career at the UAL (University of the Arts London) and he is doing some short jobs dancing, acting or modelling.
Pedro is trying to find a permanent job where he can do all that, in a musical theatre or something similar. He also wants to get more experience acting.
All this combinated with his hard Break Dance training and the dance classes that he usually takes.
